| Principal Duties: | Supervise and co-ordinate activities of Pickup & Deliver (P&D) Drivers.
Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers who operate city equipment. Supervise associated labour, contract cartage, equipment and facilities within the parameters of the collective agreement. Establish methods to meet work schedules. Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve performance. Recommend personnel actions. Dispatch drivers and monitor routes to ensure schedules are met and to resolve operating problems. Other duties as assigned in support of the Service Centre's freight operations. Works entirely in the Terminal Dispatch office area. May require shift work schedule. |
| Minimum Requirements: | Completion of secondary school.
Knowledge of the city & customer locations. Excellent verbal communication and listening skills. Knowledge of mainframe and Windows based computer applications. |
| Preferred Requirements: | Several years of experience as a dispatcher. |
